Lovely, my kind of category.
Cruises.
My grandparents love them, and I set them up.
Perfect spot to go, icruise.com. Caribbean good place to go. Should be pretty reasonably priced.
As for smoking, yeah there might be some smoking, if you get the right ship though it should be tolerable. (not everybody packed into one small area)
My grandparents adore Celebrity cruise lines, they said they were pampered beyond all belief. All the other cruise lines like Carnival have gotten 'eh =/' reviews from them, and they are picky people.
As for viruses and bacteria, other guys was right.
If you get a big ship, like the smoking it shouldn't be a problem. I would of course be diligent about using anti-bacterial stuff.
But other than that.. cruising should be fine.
I wouldn't recommend it if you want to go right away, usually with cruising it's a good idea to buy during a certain part of the year when travel is cheap (I've found mid-late December and July/August).
I've found around this time of year to be virtually sold out (besides great Specials they sometimes have going) since everybody has the urge to get out and go someplace warm, plus spring break plans as well.
Anyway that's about all I can contribute.
As for Arizona, I'd go only if you can tolerate dry weather, I thought it was fine but dried me out (got nose bleeds). Weather at the moment should be fine, though a bit on the cool side. Texas is alright, lots of sites to see, more humidity, and from what I hear colder weather. Unless you like snow/colder weather avoid the north east. Though Philly has been having some odd weather lately. I've heard that California weather lately has been peachy, but depends on your desires, and budget.
