Weird times at the gyno--am I the only one?

Once they noticed my abnormally thick cervical mucous and tested me for every STD under the sun. Of course, everything came up normal, and since then, I just explain about the CF.

I asked my cf clinic (at the time I was still going to the children's clinic, but so was every other adult cfer ; ) ) for the name of a gyn, and they gave me the name of a dr.(gyn/infertility) and his wife (an ob/gyn- different hospitals). I have to admit, I've never thought about going to a regular one and having them freak out about such things. The only thing mine said was that I had the thick mucus, but not to rely on it for birth control! Maybe you can ask at clinic if there is a gyn that they usually refer their patients to? I might cut out a bit of the "drama". That's a bad place for it .

I had a similar situation as many have already mentioned. I was having a vaginal exam from my PCP and she wanted to test my cervical mucus because I am guessing that she thought I had an STD or something. I told her that my mucus was thicker because of my CF, but she wanted to do some tests anyways. Of course, everything came back normal, thank God. Hopefully next time I go to her, she will remember that. lol

I know this is a little off topic, but it's OBGYN related, does anyone else not get their period at all??? It has been about 2 1/2 years since I've had a period and while most women would be stoked to not have to deal with PMS it really upsets me. I know alot of it has to do with my weight, right now I'm about 100 pounds, but even still, I think I should be having one. Is this a CF related thing???
