Lynda, I really like that one..... I'll have to think on it, but I really think that's great!

Just an update, it just so happens that one of the ladies in our neighborhood association (who I've been helping stuff envelopes and send stuff out for the association) is a lawyer, and she just started her own non-profit organization geared towards providing legal assistance/start up advice to other non-profits. I couldn't have asked for a better coincidence. She is more than willing to help us draft our bylaws and all the other necessary items to get our licenses and then file with the IRS for non-profit status.

She is a mom of twins and just had major foot surgery, so this may take a bit of time to get accomplished, I'm hoping no longer than about a month to get it all done and submitted to the secretary of the state, but she will be doing it for FREE and I'll just have to pay for paper, printing and such at this point (since she just started up her non-profit), but everything else is FREE!!!!!!!!!! I'm so thrilled.

Oh, how wonderful you met that lawyer, Julie! Things happen for a reason! I too like the disability advocates for CF or something like that cause it doesn't start with CF and remind me of CFRD... LOL.

I like DACF. I also like your earlier suggestion though regarding the CF assistance versus "only" being a resource. I agree with others that instead of actively helping people, it may get confused with just reading material or the like.

Let me know what I can do to help and when. I will be working on my own SSDI case until the 24th after my interview and then it will be "in their hands". Thanks again for all your help! I hope I can "give back" to the CF community when I am on disability.

Oh, and I keep noticing that you end your website ideas with .com.... Wouldn't a non-profit be .org? Just a technicality really, but you aren't selling anything so not sure you'd be a .com business, right?

I think I like the DACF too, I think that's what I'm going to go with. I want to make it clear on the website that it is active help and REAL live people who are there to assist through the process.

I don't know about how to get a .org site. Anyone know how to get started with this when the time comes? I have to do all the paperwork and stuff first, but it would be nice to know the next step for when the time comes.
