What tests do you have at your annual clinic appointment?

My husband gets annual endoscopies right now, but he has portal hypertension and has esphogial bleeding associated with that. After the first bleed they did them more regularly, like 2-3 times a year, and now they usually check him out once a year. He sees the liver doc for that.

My husband is also supposed to see the liver folks once a year to get everything checked out, but he has more severe liver issues than a lot of people on these boards.

My husband also meets with the dietician during every clinic appointment (every 3 months) and goes over his diet, etc.

He also have CFRD so they run labs to check on how his blood sugar levels have been.

Oh oh oh! A few other things:

- Get Rx for new compressor every 2-3 years
- Get Rx for new nebs (or just remind yourself) to get new nebs every 6 months!

Great ideas Amy! I always forget to get the neb cup rx. I got a new compressor last year but since I have new insurance I think I'll get a "back up" I have to say I haven't been that impressed with the Pari ProNeb Ultra II (they replaced it in the first 6 mo. of my use) so having a spare would be good.

Even before pregnancy, my husband and I noticed I chock while eating more often than I used to. It probably happens once a month. I consciously take smaller bites of food to hopefully avoid chocking. Does this happen to anyone else? I should probably start a seperate thread about this but it's what led me to thinking it might be a good idea to get an endoscopy. Lisa, do you think an endoscope might be conclusive in figuring out why I'm chocking? It feels like the flap goes the wrong way and lets food into my lungs or that there's a tissue growth that gets in the way of food passing by. It seems to happen more when I have vinagery or lemony stuff.

Lauren, I really don't know the answer to that--sorry! For my husband, they do them to see if there is any bleeding.
