Laura, Any feedback from Pari? I have felt my ii has gotten louder only after a couple months of use. We do put these machines through their paces but if they are only going to work effectively for a short bit we need to know and also somethings got to give since insurance only covers one per year for most plans.

Here's the deal with neb cups. actually after using for 6 months everyday a neb cup doesn't necessarily produce particle size as it was manufactured to do so because the little valves start to wearout. Since this is something we can't see - the wearing out of the smallest holes nor the particle size - it is imparative to pitch the neb cup after this type of use.

Now what I do is use about 10 cups for 2 years. Each is getting used 30% of the time so I figure using it for 2 years is okay since it's not getting the daily use it would if I used it everyday.

Thank you guys for your response on the neb cups. I dont know how old my neb cups are, every month or so Ill order more and go through and toss those I think are the oldest. I should mark them with a marker, but even when I mark them to let me know what med goes in what, it still washes off after so many cleanings.

I emailed my nurse to see what she says I even asked her about my neb machine, Ill let you guys know what she says when she replys back.

Okay I just got a reply from my nurse and this is what she had to say

"I would recommend that you change your nebs at least every six months. If they start to "not fit" chances are they aren't nebulizing to their maximum potential which means you won't be getting your medicine in the optimal dose. As far as the machine, we have changed to a different brand that is a little faster and seems more reliable. I don't think most of the machines are made for people who really use them a lot (like CF patients) but more for ones who only do a treatment or two a day. I will have them send you a new machine and about 6 nebs. When you need more, let me know. "

so I will be throwing some nebs away. Also I told her that when I toss mine out are when the pieces dont fit anymore, she might of thought that I had some nebs that the pieces werent fitting or something, but right now they are all functioning well, but at least Ill be getting a new machine and new nebs. Im not sure if her answer will help anybody but I thought Id share.
