What's the difference?

Yes, meaning double delta F 508. CF isn't necessairly more severy, I think that there might be some aspects that differ/are affected due to various mutations but there is still much more research to be conducted on this subject.

Just like what has been said DDF508 means double delta. It is also the most common mutations if I remember correctly....some one correct me if I am wrong though

also it doesn't always been most severe...so much extra goes into the severity of each persons disease thats its hard to say just because someone has certain mutations they are more severe.

No offense taken here either

Yes, DDF508 means 2 copies of the gene.

I have read that DDF508 is the most common mutation combination and *usually* presents with a moderate case of CF, including both digestive and respiratory. Not sure how true all that is.

I certainly can't speak for everyone, but in my observations, it seems that people with only one DF508 (or two different mutations, not to include the DF508) have less severe CF. I know some will jump all over that and yell about how every patient is different and you can't generalize and I agree, for the most part. But based on the severity of disease of people on this very site, DoubleDelta's seem to be worse off, IMO.
