I don't know where you live but I want you to Google Steven D. Freedman, MD, PhD. He is located in Boston and as other people will tell you with their following posts, He is the TOP CF GI DOCTOT IN THE WORLD.
You need to see him ASAP.
Bill
Have him read the posts here. He really must go to an APPROVED CF CENTER and see a CF SPECIALIST.
The world is full of doctors who CAN NOT SPELL CYSTIC FIBROSIS much less dx it.
Bill
OMG. He is an idiot and tell him I said so. If he continues on the path he is on, he too will pass away with CF. If he will go to a CF Center and see a CF Specialist, he can be treated.
There are alot of us on here who are over 50 and even into out 60's and 70's.
He has lung damage...
When I talk to my PCP or my Dermatologst or other specialists they all talk about a "cure". When we get into detail, they are talking about the new drugs from Vertax. They, like the rest of us, read the newspapers.
Enzo, you may be correct in seeing a "cure" in your future. If I were you, I...

Enzo:

Let me see if I get this right. First you let your child "play" with 2 other cf patients then you bitch because an intern in the ER dosen't gown up.
Then you tell us that you have "done extensive research".
Perfect!!! Keep up the good work.
In the case, son was opposed to any (all) life saving procedures. Are you now saying that Mom can decide some of the time and son decides on the balance of the time? Then by who's morals, son or mom?
Bill
Which Mother of a 17yo, who supports his position in this case, because he is old enough to make this life determining decision, would allow him to spend the weekend in a motel with his girlfriend. Just asking.
Bill
Thankfully, I never got a F in Grad School or a D or C. I appreciate your academic background but I could only comment on the facts as presented. It would be fun to hear her Profs final verdict.
Bill
Whenever I was required to deal with case studies, we were always required to deal with the facts as presented. It would be fun to bring in other thoughts but those would not be part of the case as presented.
As presented, Mom wants to keep him alive, try to get a Judge to overturn that...
