Hi all-
I got a PICC last Friday and everything has been fine. Today my arm have been feeling numb. It has been going on and off but want to know if I can wait until tomorrow to call my nurse or if this is very serious.
Has anyone else had this? It feels like it is falling asleep
I just got my PICC in today and am on tobra. I am also supposed to be on TOBI this month? Am I allowed to do both? My doctor is out of town so I can't really call him. Have others done both? Thanks!
I was just wondering if there are any people who are single and not working. I am a teacher and although i love it I know that I only have a couple of years left doing it. I am basically sick for the whole school year and it is getting worse and worse.
I know that you can get money from the...
Ok, so now that I have diabetes (at least for awhile because I won't go off prednisone) I was wondering if those that developed diabetes changed their diets. My doctor said not too but I don't understand that.
I am not underweight (5'3 120 lbs) so I don't think that I will lose any weight. But...
So I talked to my doctor today and they want to start me on insulin because I am going on 40mg prednisone for a couple days. Here is my problem: I am terrified of needles. I have trouble just checking my blood sugar. My parents are out of the country and I live alone so to have someone give me...
Hi everyone,
I am pretty sick and have been on 750mg cipro three times a day with no real success. Today I upped my prednisone to 20mg because I feel like an elephant is on my chest. I am pre-diabetic and just tested my sugar and it is 250.
I ate frozen yogurt about 1 hour ago. Is this cause...
Hi everyone-
I had my oral glucose test and my two hour fasting number was 199 so my dr. said that I had impaired glucose tolerance. He said that I will have to start checking my sugars in the morning and after eating but that is all that I will do right now. He also said that when I get sick...
I know that another post was similar to this but I didn't want to overtake that one.
On Thursday I have a horrible coughing attack and when it was finally done my side hurt a ton. It is kind of towards the back on the right side in the middle where the ribs would be I think. I thought I pulled...
Hi everyone,
I have a gyno appt. tomorrow and this dr. knows very little about CF. I am going to switch this summer but haven't yet. Anyway, I want to switch to a pill from the patch. Are there any pills that are better for us CFers? Any to stay away from?
I know there are other ways besides...
This morning there was a thread that Terri started. Now I can't find it. Can a thread disappear and is it really fair for it to?
And how does one make the decision to lock a thread vs. making it disappear.
Maybe I am just crazy...
Ok, so I have looked into Warwick's suggestions about the pressure and frequencies and have decided that I want to give those a try. I just got the Vest so I have been doing a pressure of 2 with 10HZ for 10 minutes and then a pressure of 3 with 14HZ just to get used to it.
Right when I was...
I didn't want to overtake a different thread so I decided to start a new one!
I have been taking zyrtec for about a month. It isn't doing a thing. I was once prescribed a different allergy medicine and it worked wonders but of course I don't remember what it was called.
I want to ask my doctor...
Hi all-
I looked up previous posts about vest pressure frequencies and I saw that a lot of you (and in Amy's blog) use the pressure setting at around 10.
I just got my vest and the Hill-Rom guy came today and said that I will never go above a 4 pressure setting. I am very confused.
I have the...
As I am writing this I am up in the middle of the night coughing so that is why I thought of it and am now worried.
I am supposed to go to AZ on Thursday to visit my boyfriend's dad. The problem is that I have been sick for two weeks now. I am normally at 50% FEV1 and now am at 34%. I am still...
Hi all-
I have been doing the acapella for about a year now. Before that I was on the flutter and I am soon getting a trial vest. I have never, even when I did chest PT, coughed up anything. My question is, does it still work even if you don't cough anything up?
I am sick right now and...
I know that some people on here take advil/ibuprofen for pain everyday but I was wondering if anyone takes it for inflamation. I notice a huge difference if I take 4 advil in my inflamation, especially if I am sick. It really means the difference between breathing and feeling like I am...
Ok I know I spelled prednisone wrong, I am sorry. Anyway, for those of you who take 10mg tablets how big are yours?
I got mine from my regular pharmacy and they were always kind of big. This time I got them from the CF Services and they are so so tiny! I am concerned because I am supposed to be...
Hi all,
I have recently gotten sick with a sinus infection that has of course decided to go to my lungs. I am coughing so much that all of my stomach muscles hurt, like I have been working out. Unfortunately they hurt so much I can't really move or walk without hunching over. When I cough now...
So I went to my primary dr today for my back pain. It did end up to be a stone which I passed at work (great time!). Anyway, she said that I had the most sugar possible in my urine which she said is a huge indicator that I have diabetes.
This is my second time somone has said that to me. When...
Hello all-
So I am having severe back pain. I was pretty sure I pulled a muscle coughing but now am not so sure. The pain is to the right of my spine a little and where my belly button would be but in the back. It hurts all the time and it hurts to touch. I can't move because it hurts so much...
