In today's mail, I received a card from my CF Center.
Cystic Fibrosis Night. Social Hour. Dinner.
The back side if this notice reads as follows:
We follow Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Infection Control Guidelines. Because of the potential risk posed to the patient by the possible spread of...
Somehow I think that the CFF has a protocol on the operation of a Approved CF Clinic. It would be interesting if someone would take the time and effort to check that out.

Melissa:
OP last posted on 1-12-13 that DD had a stress test and that she would report back with the results. Don't hold your breath for any further info.

I go at an appointed time. I check in at the front desk and an immediately taken to an exam room. I will remain in that room until my appointment is completed. PFT's. blood work etc are done in this room. The Doctor also comes into this room. Everyone coming in the room observes "contact...
Newborn CF screenings test for less then 100 mutations, there are nearly 2000 known mutations, any 2 will cause CF. Disregard the newborn test. The sweat test that is given at your local hospital is not the same test that is administered at a CF Center.
Your son needs to be seen at a APPROVED...
Hospitalization and IV antibiotics are not a big deal. What is a big deal is lying by omission. That is what your SO is pissed about, you need to discuss and apologise. As for the future your SO could end up with more severe medical problems than you have. Just take life one day at a time.

I am 73 and I have CF. I was a competitive swimmer and worked 5 summers for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Lifeguard on an Atlantic Ocean Beach. I played college varsity basketball (poorly but I played).
Your child can and will have a full and relatively healthy life.

Blue:
At 30 years of age, you are no longer a child. It is time to stop being "hospital averse". This attitude will only shorten your life and reduce the quality of the life that you have.

Justinsmama:
I have tremendous respect for you both as a mom and as your sons advocate. I was suprised to see your comment and I was taken back by it. I keep saying that the world is full of bad Doctors. About a year ago, I changed clinics, not because the Doctor was not real good but because...
So the CF Specialist made a bad dx. He/She is not the first Doctor to do that and He/She will not be the last.
So what is your point of directing your comment to me?
