I don't have CF, but I do get leg cramps. When I was younger, my mom would have me eat a banana or something high in potassium before bed (before I brushed my teeth). That was usually my culprit...potassium deficiency. I still try that when I have leg cramps to this day. Might try that the night...
When Dave's parents call, I want us to tell them that we'll just email them the information instead of discussing it over the phone. They do better with reading things anyway than just being told.
I'm so sick of packing you guys!!! BLAH, BLECK!

From what I understand, you (the individual) doesn't become resistant, the bacteria you are fighting becomes resistant. Which is why they switched Lucy's antibiotic every time she had ear infections her first year.
Liza,
If it weren't incredibly inappropriate, I would call and say...see...Dave and I knew what we were talking about. But, I guess I'm trying to be the bigger person here and just go with the flow.
I'm just very fortunate my mom is in agreement about Abby's preventative care and she's my...
VERY WELL! Wrote up the post today and got it online. It is very long...but I feel encouraged and reaffirmed that we are doing the RIGHT thing for Abby, regardless of what family thinks. :-)
Hey Y'all!
Ok, now that I have recovered from my drive up to Atlanta and back, I can sit down and put all of my thoughts together.
First I want to say THANK YOU to all of you who gave me suggestions for questions to ask and who also made other suggestions like have two copies of your...
Not sure if there are Wiegerts in New York from this bunch. Will look into it and let you know. I married in, so I'm still getting to know folks...and 98% of them live in the upper midwest, so I just don't know! :-)

We are heading to our prenatal CF Clinic Consultation visit in Atlanta at Emory's Children's Center tomorrow morning. I am armed with my list of questions for Abby...THANK YOU ALL!!! I feel more prepared than I would have otherwise!!!
My mom is going with me and Lucy...to keep Lucy entertained...
Julie,
I read your post both here and in the families section...
1. You have been a TREMENDOUS SUPPORT to me since I joined about a month or so ago.
2. You are an asset to this forum, don't let people who are clearly inflexible or whatever bring you down!
3. Even though I'm new, I don't think...
Julie,
Thank you for your post. I have forwarded the info on to other folks I know that are vets, etc. They'll be able to offer even more support to the family.
Emily
Dear Abby connected folk:
We are just getting into Sesame Street in the Wiegert household with Lucy, but I have just learned that SS will be adding a new female character in season 37 (makes me feel old) named...ABBY!
Here is the link with more information. The new season begins August 14 on...
We are in a slightly different situation, but similar none the less. We've found out through genetic testing that Abby due in August will have CF. My husband's parents are certain that the amnio results are completely wrong or that if they are right, she will just be a carrier. We've tried to...
I'm sorry I'm not responding personally to each and every response I received for my research. I am overwhelmed by everyone's help!!!
I needed at least 30 responses for this to work...and I counted 72 this evening!
A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO RESPONDED, and another HUGE THANK YOU for those who...
First clinic visit is June 26th. I think I forgot to mention that. THANK YOU for thinking about us. I've been pulling together a notebook and getting myself armed with our questions. I found out that they will do a cheek swab test on Lucy so there won't be really anything invasive. My mom, an...
Originally posted in the Family portion of the forum, it was suggested that I post this in the adults section to see if any of you could/would pass it on to your parents to help me out! I'm now needing about 10-15 responses. Anything you could do to help me would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
I...
I have had LOTS of response to my graduate school research request, but I need about 15-20 more responses to make my research well-rounded. If you have already responded, you have my sincerest THANK YOU!! I appreciate everything you all are doing in this community to help me with coping with...
We have an appointment on June 26 to meet with a nurse practitioner at the Emory/Egleston clinic in Atlanta. She is going to meet with us to answer our questions about Abby and what to expect after she is born. AND they will do the genetic test for Lucy to see if she is a carrier, has CF or is...
We had a family Golden Retreiver who was 15 when we had him euthanized. It was hard on all of us, but he had cataracts and degenerative muscular problems in the hips and hind legs. My mom and I felt guilty for years, but we know now that we did what was best for him. I think in this situation...
