    Wedding

I wanted to post a link for you all to see a couple of pictures from my wedding on May 28. It was such an awesome wedding - completely flawless! Then we went to Maui and had a wonderful time, I will probably add photos from that too as soon as I get them. <a target=new...

does anyone have a disibility parking permit?

I live in California so I went on the Ca. DMV website and printed out the application and took it to my doctor. It was a very easy paper to fill out, the doctor just had to sign it verifying I really needed it. I believe the requirements for a lung disability was like your PFT's being below a...

REPORT ON C.F. AND NEED HELP

I would suggest you read through the previous threads. Most of them deal with everyday issues we go through. It may take a while to go through them, but at the risk of sounding rude, most school reports are supposed to take time to research. There are so many issues that CFers have to deal...

    Extra home health supplies

I'm curious to know what all of you do with your extra home health supplies. My home care pharmacy always sends me way too much stuff, ie syringes, leverlocks, dressing changes, things of that nature, even when I tell them I don't need it. Once the stuff is delivered, the pharmacy won't take...

    Ladies-2ndary inf from IV's

I just went through the same thing a few weeks ago. My doc prescribed the diflucan for me to take daily for a week and a half (that was the remainder of my IV treatment), instead of the one time dose that you would normally take. I have this problem everytime I go on IV meds, it's such a pain...

two CFer's in the same school

Why would it be detrimental to your child's health to move her to a different school? Also, I think it is very ignorant of you to think that this other family doesn't care about their childs health. You don't know what other factors are influencing their decision to send her to this school...

    I'm new here

I just got home from Long Beach Memorial tonight. I was admitted on Tuesday after 3 weeks of home IV's and got a bronchoscopy yesterday. I called it my "Prenup Tune-up" to get me all set for my wedding. I told Dr. Tanios that I would agree to go in if he could have me out in time for my...

    Transplant...

I apologize if this has been asked before... Is there any evidence of better results from using a live donor as opposed to a cadaver? or vice versa? I would think that you would have less chance of rejection if you used lungs from a family member that has a similar body makeup.

    Just diagnosed with CFRD

Hi Aimee, I was diagnosed with diabetes 8 years ago when I was 15. I took the diagnosis pretty well; better than my parents, actually. Perhaps I was too young to fully understand what it meant to have diabetes. I just looked at it as being another step I would have to add to my daily regimine...

    CF regime

I have to agree with you about the TOBI and the vest. TOBI just takes so darn long! And the vest just annoys me. It was fun for like the first month, then I got over the novelty of it.

    Why hospitalize?

What Emily said is true, but they consider transplant when that number is CONSISTENTLY that low. I've been down to 27%, but after a tune up was back up to 70%. My last PFT was at 88%.

    Why hospitalize?

I agree that your husband should call the doc himself. He should give the doc his phone number as well and inform the doc that he wants to be a part of any major decision making regarding your stepson's care.

    cfrd

Wow! Another Lindsey with cfrd! I am 23 and have been diabetic for almost 8 years now. Just last October I went on the pump and I love it!! It has seriously changed my life. I have a major sweet tooth so I ate stuff that I wasn't supposed to, plus I hated doing the shots. With the pump I...

    Working full time

I am a server in a restaurant and I tend to work a lot of hours, although it varies from week to week. The shifts are long, about 9 hours if I am there all night, and you can bet that by the end of the night I am ready to fall over. But I don't excercise regularly, so I think the fact that I...
