I have a bit of an asthma component as well and hypertonic saline made me 10x worse. I went from being able to run 4 miles non-stop to maybe 1/4 mile and I was gasping for breath. Speak with her doc about stopping the HTS and see if that makes a difference.

I blew a 118% in clinic today. They were kinda irritated that my weight had gone down, but then I'm eating better and working out, that's what happens.

On further reading, it does seem that one can have an atypical form of CF where CBAVD is present, but no respiratory or digestive symptoms. It did not say whether this was in the presence of just one or both recessive genes. That was a from a publication of Cornell Univ.

I think it's a very reasonable thing to do, for 2 reasons:
1. As she mentioned, if you truly do have CF, you'll want to know so you can manage it properly.
2. Having 2 mutations increases your chances of having a child with CF, should your wife also have a mutation, and it means that your...

I think there are 2 factors at play that contribute to endurance. The overall capacity of the person to take in oxygen for gas exchange in the lungs and the efficacy with which the body uses that oxygen. I know many healthy-looking people who could not run an half marathon or full marathon...

Memberx, you make a very good point, but I would expand on it. Many people whom I have encountered here and elsewhere really don't seem to have a good grasp on Cf. What it is, how it works, what to expect. That's one of the great things about this forum, the ability to learn from one another...
