wanderlost-congratulations and good for you, I am veyr proud of you, 3 weeks from now you will be wondering why you waited so long! I woudl say wrap the arm when not in use with a bandage, long sleeve shirt at least, I would just do pletny yogurt for little one and take lots probiotics yourself...

I took a beta blocker during pregnancy for migraines that was supposed to cause asthma issues but we did a trial of it and it never caused an issue for me so if there is one that is safe you may want to give it a try and see if it causes issues, if it does immediately switch and start weaning...
