I know what you mean! I took in a prescription for colistin to a chain pharmacy I had been using for a few years, and they told me they had no idea what it was, and couldn't get it for me. , so I took it across the street to a small, locally owned pharmacy and they ordered it for me- no problem. So I transfered all my prescriptions (except the ones I get from cf services pharmacy- pulmozyme, xopenex, Tobi and, ironicly, colistin -free water and syringes now )
It's nice to go somewhere to pick up my prescriptions, and they just say "Hi! I'll go get it." They have also gotten on the phone and fought my insurance for coverage of generic drugs (that only came in a lower dose and would have to be split so I could take 1 and 1/2 pills, but wasn't covered at that dose- they covered it). I also get my HTS from a small local pharmacy (different one- my regular one can't get it).
Do shope around and you may want to tell them you have cf and to inform you right away if there is a problem with your prescription(s). The good ones will understand and help in anyway they can!
