there is a thread a while back about what we do to help this kind of nagging cough. I usually sleep on the couch with the tv on propped up or even somewhat leaning forward... keeping the tv on pyschologically makes me think I'm not trying to sleep b/c it seems like the second I get it in my head that I'm going to go to bed, I start coughing!!!
I used to chug robitussin... know that can't be healthy, but taking the normal dosage didn't even touch how bad my cough was. (I'm talking dry, hacking, inflamed and unproductive cough.)
I used to try tea, but lately I've been drinking ice water, which seems to help with the inflammation.. also, eating pretzel rods, saltines or tortilla chips can help to... not sure why-- might be the salt in them or just the fact that your throat get the lubrication from swallowing...
