I've usually either got iTunes playing on my computer or my iPod with me in the car! And usually blaring the heavy metal; Rob Zombie, Godsmack, Korn, Marilyn Manson, etc. Despite the genre of music, it does soothe me no matter what I'm doing. I usually turn it on while I'm doing housework or the like. I guess the beat pumps me up and distracts me so I don't drop out half-way through! LOL. Seems to make my treatments go faster, as well.

I don't know about music taking her mind off how she feels, but music certainly helps Emily get through a neb/vest session with a minimum of complaining. If we put in a Wiggles DVD or turn on a CD (Laurie Berkner is a favorite, or the soundtrack to Annie minus a few songs) she does the whole thing without saying "OUt, OUT OUT!" like she does if we watch something else during treatment. She does the hand motions and gets up and "Wiggles" right along...vest and neb and all!

OK Melissa...I gotta know..."alternative airway clearance" while Jaz was gone...or not?

Turn on music and I am in heaven.

I am with Lisa... the heavier the better. Just love her choices of music. Music raises my spirits--even the heavy stuff. We listen to music in the car and at home on the computer. We got rid of the tv so music fills the quietness in the house.
