Hey Sonia: I agree with all the peeps except for the herbal remedies. We as Diabetics CFRD have to be careful fo Echenaicia and other herbal remedies. If you do consider them make sure you research them and their effect on sugars. Im going to research oregon oil myself. Im curios. So far any of the herbal remedies I have researched have had a direct effect on the sugars. So I stay away from them. Zinc works for me. Just when I get symptons of a cold I immediately take a cold ease, or Zicam. Bot a zinc product. That little extra zinc has been proven to help cut symptoms by at least a third. That it does. I swear by it.

Good Luck with the lingering cold

Blessings and prayers.

I wake up at night sweating for some reason also. It has been going on for almost 2 years now and it happens when i am well or not. In fact, i no longer sleep with a blanket on because if i did it ( the sweating) would be much worse. I used to have to be under my comfy blankets in order to sleep well, and now a days it just sits off to the side, unless of coarse i get cold and drape it on me. I've tried what Amy does with keeping the room cooler and i have to agree it has helped quite a bit. I hope you get to feeling better soon ! Sounds like you had a nasty one there. If you dont feel better soon i would call the Dr. and at least let them know whats going on and maybe they can prescribe something for you. Did you ever do home iv's? Since your Clinic is so far away maybe home iv's would be more convenient for you if you had to have iv's. That is of coarse if you feel comfortable doing them yourself.
Me personally when i feel sick .... i do all of my iv's at home. The last place i want to be is in a hospital where i am liable to get sicker, due to who knows what kinds of germs are floating around.

Hi...I hope you're feeling much better by now, ladybug. I wanted to reply anyway just in case you weren't.

In 2006 I had a very bad cold move into my lungs. I had the same symptoms, down to the night sweats and pain..everything. I let it go because the DR was sure it was viral. Anyway about 3 weeks later I was unable to walk, not able to really even roll myself over. I had lost 15 lbs, and only then was I finally put in the hospital after ct scans and everything with a fully collapsed left lung. I had a chest tube in the front, and a chest tube in the back, and I was in the hospital the entire month of April. I had a chest tube at home for 7 days after that, and the PICC still another 2 weeks after the tube came out. Looking back now, I HATE that I let it go on that long. I hope this isn't the case for you, but if it's still going on, definitely get into the doctor. My left lung is never going to be the same

Hey Sonia,

I am brand new to this forum, but I feel like you are experiencing exactly what I have. I have a pretty mild case of CF. I am pretty healthy, exercise regularly, do my treatments, but winters are tough and I have been fighting a cold for about a month now. I went into the doctors, they diagnosed me with a sinus infection and put me on a mild antibiotic. I continued to have fevers every evening, ranging from 100-102. Each night i would try different things to keep from getting the night sweats. i tried eating differently, changing room temps, wearing different things to bed. NO LUCK!!! I still sweat every night and wake up completely soaked, and freezing cold! I also have an achy body most evenings. I have had a chest Xray and have visited my doctor and nothing has come of it. Just wondering if you are still having the problem or if your condition has subsided?
