I did the whole syringe job for years and found no benefit from it...
It was only recently I found out I was doing it completely wrong, after 5 attempts to have sinus surgery and finally telling them where to go, I was then stuck with chronic sinuses, continuous cough from post nasal drip and no chance of getting my surgery...
anyhow- I was then given a flo care system from my CF nurse to try, it comes with a bottle that holds 250ml and a nozzle that when you squeeze the bottle when upright the solution comes out.... it also comes with pre made up packets....
The way sinus washes should be done (or how I do them now with remarkable success) is I shove the nozzle up one side and then squeeze the bottle, you can feel the sinuses fill up before draining out the other side, you then swap sides and repeat, after you have done both sides, blow your nose and be amazed LOL
I recently got over the flu and a sinus infection by just doubling my sinuses washes to twice a day without needing any ABS, which I have never been able to do since my tx...
I wish I had of known about the proper way to do my washes I think it would have benefitted me in my pre tx days as well as my post tx days
ps I am not saying that anyone has said their method of washes are wrong, just that I was doing them wrong...
