Some of you may recall this is the SECOND time this year I have had a reaction to my allergy shots. After the first one I went back down a level and worked my way up to maintenance level, this is my second shot at this level with no reaction last time. This time it burned SUPER bad going in again and I thought 'uh oh' but then countered with the thought that it was unlikely to happen a second time and I was just being paranoid. Hmm maybe not.
Those shots are taken 7 hours after my allergy shot, only two shots this time as my third vial is being given at work on a weekly basis and I am having no reaction to that--got it yesterday. I called the on call # but they have not answered so given that it spread from a round red lump to what you see now in under 2 hours, most of it within 30 minutes or so I am not messing around this time. I had a refill on the steroids, called it in and took 60mg which was what he started me at last time. I dont want to let it get out of control again.
This time it happened much bigger much quicker than last time, I am already all itchy on my neck and face. I guess this explains why I started feeling so crummy a few hours after the shot.
If anyone has ANY thougths, ideas, references etc I would be most appreciative. I have a good allergist but if he doesnt have any thoughts tomorrow I will probably be seeking a second opinion (hence the photos).
