    Easter Morning Sermons

If any of you want/need a good sermon for Easter Morning, my church has two session of a conference being webcast Sunday morning 10:00-12:00 and again 2:00-4:00 (Mountain Time). Choir singing will be streamed for 30 minutes prior. I always find these conferences very uplifting. If you miss the...

Have I helped anyone on this forum?

Has anyone on this thread helped you? How did they help you? Then try your best to do those types of things. Has anyone on this thread hurt your feelings? How did they do that? Then try your best to not do those things. I believe you have a lot of passion. That is not bad, but it leads you to...

Jeannie or someone set up petition for FDA comment?

You are probably right. Sadly science loses without the backing of popular opinion. Does anyone have a direct link to the address to which we should send our comments?

    Work

It all depends on the clauses in the policy. I was looking closer at my employer LTD, and it looks like it has a few exceptions but pre-existing isn't one of those. However I did read that some policies (even through an employer) have clauses that might require a person working for a year or two...

Jeannie or someone set up petition for FDA comment?

Are FDA hearing motivated by public comment? I was hoping this would a process that would rest on the merits of the science and not on popular opinion. I guess I just don't trust the larger public as much as I do the experts and the results of well done (double blind placebo controlled) studies.

NYTimes cover story today, dying with teens

I think these stories are very informative. It is amazing how a little thing like writing down your wishes can make a trying time easier for our loved ones. The last thing I want is my loved ones second guessing themselves about doing 'what he would have wanted.' I don't like to think about...

    atypical form of cf diagnosis

When you are dealing with CF if you don't have one of the main mutations then you fall into a pretty small percentage. I read you last post and it said your daughter has a 5t variant, and another mutation. What is the other mutation? There are several on this forum that have opened my eyes to...

    Work

The idea that Long Term Disability has a pre-existing conditions clause seems rotten. I hadn't ever supposed that would be the case. It is like insurance companies exist to collect money without ever wanting to pay out. Do you know if part of that was because of your short work history? Some...

    Work

I work full time and I'm up at 5:30 doing treatments right now. As it is some weeks at work get pretty exhausting. I haven't had to do the hospital thing and am not quite sure how I'd make that work. Is the nature of your work such that you have flexibility in your work schedule? Can you remote...

    My Church

Anien2 and Gammaw aren't too far apart. There are evidences of a person's belief in God, but there is also something intangible about it. Believing in God is having a knowledge but the knowledge isn't perfect. There are some great scriptures that back up this line of thought: From Hebrews 1:11...

    My Church

@Anien: I am okay with others that find comfort in faith traditions that feel incorrect to me. In my thinking, maybe God is uses man's ideas of Santa or Zeus to help prepare someone for a time when they are ready to find what I would call the True and Living God. Many non-believers still hold...

    My Church

I often think that God's relationship with me is similar to my relationship with my toddler (without the perfection on my part). I love her to death but there are things I must do for her good that cause her discomfort, pain, or are just not what she wants to do. She'll sometime fight, whine...

    Tobi and Cankers

Does anyone else get mouth cankers when they are on inhaled Tobi? It seems like I always end up with 1 or 2 really big cankers for each Tobi session which make eating and talking painful. Any suggestions for remedies or prevention? I've been mouth rinsing with warm salt & baking soda water and...

    Nitrous Oxide

@DmT145: One of a clinician's primary responsibilities is to grasp the material well enough to explain it to a layman. Or at least be able to point to a respectable source on the topic. In that you’ve failed. Your posts had no useful medical knoweldge, no biological clarifications, and...

Does a tune up mean iv?

When I hear it I think IVs and typically some sort of stay in the hospital.

    Medical tax deductions/spread sheets?

I googled around a little and this looked promising (and also very simple); http://www.squawkfox.com/2010/11/01/medical-record-form/

    Parents of ADULTS with CF

It took me having my own kids to really understand how much I owe to my parents. Now I'm a lot better at letting them know of my PFTs and general health. I would still get a little bothered if they still thought my health is primarily their responsibility. As a child it was, but as an adult I...

    Nitrous Oxide

Dmt145, if you want adult discussion, you'll need to work on your own responses. A bit of compassion, a bit of political savvy, and a brief correction of any misinformation (like a statistic on how frequent this sort of contraindication occurs) may have been more effective than a full barrage of...

    Medical tax deductions/spread sheets?

It used to be 7.5% but now it is 10% (unless you or your spouse is over 65 and then it is still 7.5% until end of 2016). But Beliveing is correct that to get the itemized deduction you need to be over the 10% (and be itemizing your deductions and not just taking the standard deduction). Here is...

    First Tune Up

Glad you bounced back. If you get out to Utah let's go for a run (with a minimal grade).
