I understand you may need to edit the following - I would've sent it to you in private, but private messages are disabled. I may have spoke too harshly...but, I find it highly concerning that this person isn't being approached directly. This is SERIOUS. Not taking care of your child is SERIOUS...
Don't worry too much about divulging information...your IP address is trackable as you've posted to this site. If you're looking for advice, I advise that you voluntarily let your son live with a family member or other who has the time and devotion to help him. A missed treatment here or there...
Also, we have been told yet ANOTHER time frame for enzymes...1.5 hours. The four hours seems excessive unless your LO has slow gastric emptying. Food moves through our system more quickly than four hours...most digestion/absorption occurs in the small intestine - enzymes can't possibly sit there...
My daughter started Pulmozyme at eight months old. Her first CF team didn't agree with it's use in children under two years old. DD was hospitalized for an exacerbation at two weeks old - seemed logical to me that we should do anything available to keep the next exacerbation at bay for as long...
DD has cultured Staph A. since diagnosis....at two weeks old....we've never treated. It's debatable whether or not it keeps PA at bay - her CF doctor said that information is floating around based upon one small study from the early 90s. At any rate, we don't treat it....
Hmmm...I would tend to agree with the viral component more often causing exacerbations in young children before bacterial exacerbations thus yielding similar results between placebo and HTS. What this study admittedly doesn't and can't report upon is projected lung health of these children. They...

I agree that it will get better. You'll fall into a routine and it won't seem so overwhelming. It's strange how things just become a part of everyday life. You'll get there!
I, too, disagree in standing back and letting the CF doctors/team do their job. You must do research for yourself and be...

Love to read these stories! From a non-CF standpoint - you're doing a great job! From a CF standpoint - it's so great to know that when DD has a child (God-willing!) that she'll be able to BF as well....
CF is a complicated condition...but, I agree with the above posters that he's fortunate to have been diagnosed so late...many others don't avoid diagnosis because they have recurrent infections requiring hospitalizations. Just my two cents - I would tend to think that working at a car wash (I...

Hi there! We tried DHA for DD but her nutritionist actually advised against it...something about the processing of these fats among individuals that have CF can actually cause inflammation. I haven't researched that myself, but stopped giving it to her. <img...

Is she old enough to make this decision for herself? If you disagree with her choice and you're her parent...then she doesn't have a choice as it may be detrimental to her health. When she's of age, go for it...but, IMO, my child wouldn't be allowed to make that choice without the knowledge to...
