    antibiotics allergies

Hi. I am 27 (almost 28!) and have developed some drug allergies as an adult, namely to an IV med called Zosyn. Has she ever been on Levaquin or Cipro (both in the same fam of drugs)? She probably wouldn't be on bactrim too frequently as she gets older, Kids w/CF tend to have more of a staph...

    tubals

I just got an IUD (cooper, not mirena), which lasts 10 years. It seemed like a good alternative to surgery. I have heard that some insurances won't cover for a tubal under age 30 (just anecdotally).

    Reasons I love my port

I love my port too!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> It def. beats getting PICC after PICC. Mine is above my left breast and isn't very noticeable at all. I was really surprised at how discreet it was. There is a scar (about 2 in), but even that is easily hidden. I...

    Mycobacterium abscessus

Hi, Over the last two years, I have had an explained decline in my lung function (~20%). During that time, I've undergone numerous tests and had two bronchoscopies (10/09 & 6/10). My doctor just imformed that me that my most recent bronch sample grew M. abscessus. I have done some reading about...

    Hearing Loss

Mag, I am definitely going to suggest it! Like I said, I don't know if I would have done anything different. Now, I don't really have many IV antibiotic options, but five years ago, I did. Maybe I would have made different choices. I am considering writing a letter to the CFF as well.

    Hearing Loss

Hi All, I wanted to share with, or caution everyone, to pay close attn to their hearing if they are frequently on Tobra (poss. even Tobi, thought the risk is said to be less). I had always known that there was a risk for ototoxicity in Tobra, but my trough's have always been good. I never had...

    Birth control

Hi all, After a lot of soul searching, my husband and I have decided not to have children. Long story short, I had gone off the pill for a while, then restarted when we decided to no longer "try". I would like some sort of birth control more "permanent" than the pill (not to mention I've always...
