I flew to Canada once when I was about 11. I flew to the Florida Keys when I was about 16, or so. And I flew to Barcelona only... 2 years ago, age 18. The Canada and Florida trips, my lung health was pretty fine, so it wasn't a problem. But when Barcelona came around, I had started having lung...
To the parents of younger children, one hopeful thing to keep in mind... The younger the child, the better chance they have to live longer than us adults. lol Not to say the adults won't live longer either, but you know what I mean. The meds that I live on now weren't around when I was born (oh...

Antibiotics of any kind can easily give you a yeast infection any/every time. Especially, the stronger ones. But it's a VERY common side effect. I take over the counter pills to help with this. Try out AZO yeast, and/or acidophilus.

That's a good point... when the port is accessed, it causes a little more trouble. You don't really want someone bumping into it when there's a needle in you. Heh. But even then, I find ways around it, and I still have an active sex life, so to speak. Heh.

That's weird. I've had trouble with doctors before who talked over and treated me like I was 5, when I knew better about my CF than they did... I always changed doctors when I met ones like that. I outright refuse to deal with doctors like that. Knowing my temper I'd end up lashing out at a...

Usually when people get colds they last... what... days, maybe a week? I have always had the experience as a CFer that when I get a cold, it lasts a few weeks. I don't know the specifics of why, but you can kind of figure it out and understand. I don't do much of anything about it, except stick...

lol Nicole I did the same thing with Mike... "Maybe you should find a healthy girl, one who can have your kids, and live longer..." and he tells me the same thing. "Shut up, I know what I want. I'd rather be with you for 10 years than stop being with you now. I want any time I can get." Haha...

I hate Cipro for just that reason. I can't be on it and have a job or school at the same time, because when I'm on it, I feel I need to be near a bathroom at ALL times. I still go on it sometimes.. but the last few times it has only torn up my intestines and done nothing for my lungs. Heh...

I agree with a piece of that last post. I actually would prefer staying in the children's hospital because I always find the nurses / docs / whoever to be more understanding, and caring. But oh well. Haha.
