I agree with a piece of that last post. I actually would prefer staying in the children's hospital because I always find the nurses / docs / whoever to be more understanding, and caring. But oh well. Haha.
I go to Yale in New Haven, Connecticut. They are currently adding an adult CF ward, but this is the first time for that. For my first 20 years, I have gone to the children's ward. For the past two and a half years I always got trouble going into the ER. The adult ER would tell me to go to...

My Mike has comes to terms with the whole CF deal. We've been together a year, 2 months and change now. So he understands the severity and the fact that I can't have kids (I physically cannot for unrelated reasons, though it would've been harder based on the CF alone anyway), and that I'll...

I'd love to hear any different problems or concerns, anything of the like, if anyone cares to share. Like I said, I'm not looking at a tx yet, but I do think about all the pros and cons about it, and the wider range of information I have, the better.

Technically their children can only "catch it" (which really isn't the correct term here) if the mother is also a carrier. He has CF, but that is entirely irrelevant if the mother doesn't carry CF. You need a gene from both the mother and the father in order to be born with CF.

Ahh I missed Coll's question about how I got into ASL. Sorry. Hehe. Actually, no I didn't know any Deaf people at all until I started here at Northeastern. I took a signed English class in my high school and even though I knew it was different than ASL, I fell in love with it. I took that class...

I'm currently a student in college. But I know pretty much what I'll be doing when I get out, so I wanted to reply. Heh. I'm an American Sign Language major at NU, and when I graduate I intend to interpret for the Deaf. Probably at either a hospital or school or something of the like. If my...
