I'm going to add that with relatives, you generally KNOW before being with them that they are germy. The person in line next to you at Wal-Mart could have a fungus ball in their lung or maybe just got released from a nursing home but you wouldn't necessarilly know it. We DID know these things...
Our DD wasn't diagnosed until she was three so when she was a newborn we were (blissfully?) unaware! But you have a few things going for you - your newborn has almost a whole year before the next cold and flu season comes around, and you are an experienced mom. So when you set some germ rules...

I'm going to interrupt this thread for a moment to say -
Oh my goodness, Liza, what a story. I'm saying a prayer for that girl and her family. How completely senseless.

You don't want to become a regular? But we're such a fun group! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
Okay, seriously, I would push for testing like Alyssa describes (CFF accredited center, etc.) At this point what would be the harm of ruling CF out? I would also...

That is beautiful, Tami. My favorite might be Isabelle feeding her baby along with you feeding Emily. Big sisters - so, so sweet. Your girls are absolutely adorable.
I like the way you wrote it all out. Very good. I've started the day off with tears!

Katy is on Azithromycin 3 days a week, and our doc explained it the same way Amy did.
Yay for Aidan's good checkup, and way to go on his weight! Katy is only 35 pounds now. The weight gain is not something I've focused very hard on yet. Her VEST prescribed time is 40 minutes a day.

To answer your second post, I don't think anything that you are describing is normal. Don't let those "I'm a new mommy" doubts cloud your perception that something is wrong! I hope you get your answers soon. Perhaps your doctor can treat the GI symptoms with enzymes NOW. Ask him.
