You can get a pouch of loose tobacco and some cheese cloth (I bet a coffee filter would work) and make a tobacco pack to put on it. The tobacco will suck out the toxins. I have not had to do this for myself, but I have seen it work numerous times.

I was told once by an OBGYN that we can have more cervical mucous than others, and ours is often thicker - hence why some CF women have conception problems. I think it is entirley possible that that thicker, saltier mucous would irritate the cervix and cause bleeding every now and then as well...
I'm on albuteral and advair plus my enzymes and they told me to stay on all of them. I actually stopped the inhalers for about the first 4 weeks, but then found I needed them and went back on.

Ok I found the video, here it is, the video is "Total Lung Care feel the difference TLC makes" . Watch it and in the middle or towards the end is where they say not to substitute CPT for exercise. Here it is a...
I swam wherever I wanted (and I live in Indiana, btw) - well not ponds, but only because I thought it was gross, not because of bacteria. My parents were pretty unconcerned with that stuff, and thankfully I never picked anything up anyway. As a previous poster said, obvioulsy you want to tell...

CPT, like the Vest, can do what no exercise can.
The vibrations have the ability to losen mucus in a way that exercise just can never do.
That's why CPT and exercise are the best combo. No question about it.
And...
For years all I did was exercise. I was a competitive swimmer - so practice everyday, sometimes 2x a day. I have to believe that is why I have been very lucky with my CF (or a factor at least). I am not as good at the exercise thing anymore...pretty bad, actually. I still don't do any other...
Charlize is South African though - as is my grandmother - and my grandma, at least, doesn't consider herself as African Amercian, but rather simply South African, nor do many people in the U.S. use that term for much other than referring to black people. (I know, I tried to get an angle on...
I have your solution! I have a CF and I am a drinker: when I want to have ad rink, I do (no lectures from the crowd please)....however, for some reason the flavored malt beverages cause me to get crazy gas in my tummy - it hurts! Hurts all the way up inot my chest. I don't know what it is...
Yogic breathing! I don't do it naturally, but I do do it during yogic practice and always before PFTs.
If you're interested in furthering your knowledge here, there are all sorts of different techniques. One called kabalabhati breath I find particularly helpful in loosening secretions, google...
I was breastfed and formula fed as a baby, and until my diagnosis at 6 weeks I was STARVING. I wasn't getting anything from either food. Once I had the enzymes I startd gaining like crazy. I was on formula at that time simply because my mom had given up trying to bf when they didn't know what...
I don't see a naturopath, but I do use holistic medicine frequently. A lot of poepl here do, mixing it in with their daily regime. I don't rreally have a daily regime yet, but if you want to know some of the things I use, let me know. Look into a B.E.S.T. chiropractor too, I haven't been, but...
I also gained a lot of weigth with CF. Weight hasn't been an issue for me since puberty, but I sort of hit a quasi-middle-aged spread thing. You're a bit younger than me, but our bodies and metabloism does change pver the years, if it isn't meds related.

I realize all the bird flu talk is hype, but once it does mutate, assuming it does, it will be all but too late to get supplies. As soon as it goes public, they way the media is, there will be a frenzy to grab up...

What kind of needs does your son have? The reason I ask is, I wonder if it is necessary ot have him on an IEP/504 at first. Would it be possible to just speak with the teacher and the school staff about his needs and see how they do? I ask for a few reasons...one, as a teacher, I am...
Thanks everone for your warm thoughts...I decided that I am going to give it a few days, as I really think I have the bug my son had a few weeks ago...since my chest is feeling better, I am not as concerned about CF complications.
To the anon peerson, yes, a CF doctor put me of augmentin. I do...
Amy - yes, I probably do have pseudo in my sinuses, though I just recently cultured them (type 2) for the first time in my sputum. I have always reacted well to typical antibiotics - even things like zithromax, and I feel better chest wise(things are breaking up, congestion is lessening) from...
