I'm No Scrooge, But Here's What Irks Me

was hoping that this thread would go away because I hate it. I debated replying eariler but didn't but now I feel upset about it so I am going to share.

Superman Fan, You are really entitled to your feelings, thoughts and ideas as much as Emily is. When Emily made this post, she was venting and sharing her feelings. She didn't attack anyone.. or call anyone out...Knowing Emily through her posts and chatting with her, to me, It looks more like if anything she was comming behind Allie to support her. If you had your feelings hurt or were upset with Emily personally, why are you publically speaking about it?

She has private messages and in any relationship good, bad, or indifferent. It is best to directly go to the person you are upset with.. Not call them out publically.

...... Emily has proven herself to be a mature person at least in my veiws of her and from what I have seen from her.. I am a total Christian, believe in God with all my heart.. and as you know Emily doesn't.. We are still friends.. and she is someone that I respect. Emily is 10 years younger then me, I still get advice from her when I need it or if I want to chat. I have seen her respond with more mature answers then me at times... I have not seen to many 22 year olds admit fault ever....or not very often. I see Emily post on this board and be willing to be open to others.... or correct something that she said that she wanted to clarify. I have found her to be very mature, open and absoultely hysterical to talk to.

I am not saying this to invalidate you or your feelings in anyway, I am saying this because I was wondering why if you had a problem with her, did you play games, not leave your name at first, then attack her? To me that is not a mature way to handel anything.

Seriously, this is an aduly forum, we all are going to disagree at times, it is only normal.. Please if you have a problem with someone, talk to them the way you would want someone to talk to you and also do it privately.

OMG, some people can be so...no, wait, I don't actually think there's a word for the level of immaturity I just read through five pages of pointless bickering. To all the anons, grow up. You want to talk about maturity, get a name for yourself and stop hiding behind your computer. Get some b@ll$ if you think you have something important to say.

As for the anon who called us "a bunch of name-ists!"...forgive my ignorance here, but wtf is a name-ist?! Good lord...

I've talked with her many times about her husband, and while I won't devulge the content of our converstations because I don't want to invade her privacy, we've talked about Ry's death many times, and the answer is simple. It was his choice. If you truly have CF, you'll understand the fact that sometimes you just get tired of fighting the fight. Maybe that's what happened to him, maybe he knew something deep down that no one else did, etc. Could be anything. You don't know his situation or what he struggled with, so don't judge him. Let the man rest in peace, he deserves that much! No one needs to question his motives!

Emily, I agree with you totally. This is an adult forum and you have every right to post whatever the hell you want to. There's no reason to censor this forum for 'negativity', either. I've seen that word so many times here recently its making me sick. Get over it. Life isn't peaches and cream, people. You want to delude yourselves? Fine. But don't push that crap on everyone else. Some days I feel like s#it and I wish I could go out and beat the living crap out of something. On days like that, I vent. Usually not here, but to close friends and relatives. Some people choose to do it on this forum. In that case, <b>leave these people alone</b>!!!! Stop telling them to be happy and cheer up and stop being negative, or that you feel sorry for them! <b>You</b> are the ones that need sympathy. I highly doubt that anyone on this forum goes around in real life sulking all the time, but people do have their moments of weakness. Know why? Cuz they're human! *gasp* And if one person comes back and tells me that they've never vented like that before in one form or another, I'm warning you now, I'm going to tell you you're full of it. Emily has come on here with many helpful things to say, so whatever possesses some people to think that she's entirely pessimistic is beyond me.

Sorry, I went off on a rant, but this just made my blood boil. I hope this thread is locked or something. Its a shame it has to come to that, but people want to argue about maturity before they look in the mirror.

Of all the words that come to mind when I hear the word "Emily", immature is not one of them. (By the way, anonymous spelled "immature" wrong a bunch of times which made me giggle. (Ironically, making me kind if immature <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">) Emily has the wisdom of a wise old sage! Who lives on a mountain, and writes in scrolls. No seriously, I am of the opinion that people with CF have a wisdom and a maturity about them early on. And voicing one's opinions and defending their friends does not make someone immature. It makes them a friend. Asking Allie why Ry chose not to get a transplant and acting like that is any of your business is one of the most insensitive things I have ever heard. In fact, I gasped out loud! This is a support forum!! Although clearly, I do not support you, so I guess I should just get out of this thread!

Emily has said several things I disagree with, but at least she's id'd herself and stuck with her beliefs. The point of places like this forum is to respect each other's differing opinions, while sharing our own.

The issue I believe is not who's immature or who's a bad speller, but is that you made some callous, rude, and biting remarks to a nice person who does alot for the CF community that logs on here.

And, you made some disrespectful, and biting remarks to a widow. And that is frankly, low class and unforgivable.

Go take some ettiquette classes and come back here in a few years to aplogize.

Now, why don't we clip our claws and move on?

I'm not trying to minimize the issue at all. It had me really pissed off reading some of this stuff too. It's just all this tension isn't healthy. Girls, sometimes you can't change anyone's mind, so you have to give up. I wish I was there to give some of you a neck rub!!<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

And some of you I'd give something else...
