Hee, Hee, I have a lot of experience with this one! I have had a ridiculous amount of colonoscopies and I always write a message on my butt. It is discovered by the docs after I am sedated and before they go in for the kill.
Here are a few I can remember;
I did a W on each cheek to make "WoW"...
That is so awesome. My son is obsessed with Ensure, Boost, etc.. He would have 4-5 a day if it wasn't so expensive. His insurance paid for it while he was in the hospital, we even took home about 40 cans (it was like Christmas!) It is not covered right now and I would definitly pursue them...
Update on the babies
Congrats!! Its good to see those boys are catching up. I'm sure their sister will let them live it down. I totally understand about the nasty medication, I had to take an antispasm drug several years ago and it was hell. I literally had to moan, rock myself, and bang my...
I'm glad you got through it without a problem. I know it doesn't help much right now because the procedure is done and over with, but I have had at least a dozen colonoscopies and endoscopies. I have Crohn's, which is a digestive disease. The worst part is the clean-out, hideous, horrible...
I'm supposed to see him August 7th, almost two weeks. My sister in law said if I was really, really worried I should go ahead and go in to get checked out. I think I can wait, but two weeks is a long time for an emotional pregnant lady!!
I was so scared to get pregnant and find that the...
Thanks everybody for all the support! I can't believe I am freaking out so much with this pregnancy. I am still so early in my pregnancy that it is ridiculous for me to be so worried (I am about 8 weeks). My mom does ultrasounds of the heart and so she really wanted me to come into her work...
I am pregnant! I am freaked out and am on an emotional roller-coaster. We have really wanted to have another child, I always imagined having several. When our son was diagnosed with CF we stopped trying until we were both 100% in agreement with our decision. Five years later we still are...
Christi, I am so sorry this has become a battleground. I'll try to get right to the point. For the first few months I started to work as a preschool teacher, my son and I both had a constant "mild" cold. He was not diagnosed with CF at the time and so I wasn't too worried. He was exposed to...
I stayed at home with my son for the first year, but my husband changed jobs and I needed to earn some extra money. I decided to go and work at a church that had a preschool and "mothers day out" program. My son was in the same building as me and I could visit him whenever I needed. We both...
I get pissed when people complain about having to take antibiotics (often the same ones my son takes) and don't finish the whole bottle. There is so much antibiotic resistance now because of the people who stop taking them when they feel better. I don't want my son to be exposed to antibiotic...
We have a pool in backyard and it has done wonders for his health. He can swim underwater for the whole length of the pool and can hold his breath longer than me! I did get a little worried about him swallowing water and inhaling water, but it hasn't hurt him at all. The exercise definitly...
my son, who is also 6, takes them by himself most of the time. I was skeptical that he could do it on his own, but I was suprised how well he took to it. He can swallow four pills at a time, his school nurse taught him. I found these cheap disposable plastic containers at a food supply store...
LOVE
being able to wear shorts in winter
anonymity of living in a big city
being close to all my family
HATE
only being able to wear cute winter clothes a few times before it gets hot again
when my air conditioner breaks down
being close to my evil mother-in-law
Ok this isn't really CF related but I have to tell it anyway. I used to be on high doses of Predisone for years and years and never got bit by a mosquito, seriously. When I finally was able to taper off the drug and stop taking it completely, mosquitos loved me. I got four bites yesterday...
I appreciate all that you have done for this forum. You may not have CF, neither do I, but we love someone with CF which is why we are hear. Don't second guess the help you have given to the many people hear--you obviously made a big difference in getting them the help they needed. I have...
Thanks for all the support! I love it when my son gives me CPT, it's like a massage. It's a loving, normal thing in our family and I should have explained to him a little better why his cousin didn't enjoy it, rather than why he didn't need it. He hasn't talked about it in a few days, but I...
I saw a documentary about this once. It showed many different things you can do with your loved ones remains. For instance, it did talk about the diamonds and the process. There was a company that took the ashes, along with other people ashes, and imbedded it into a porous material that would...
