Can you do hypertonic saline in an eflow?

I do the same thing as Jaime where I use an old head for saline. Eventually it will get up to around 15 mins when it starts getting really clogged, but before that it is certainly faster than the Pari. If it is too much salt, talk to your doc about trying different concentrations. I initially...

    Diabetes...maybe

Nope, I haven't taken steroids in a couple of years. Back then I did have higher sugars (high 100s) when I was on high doses of prednisone and a couple of OGTTs suggesting prediabetes, but that hasn't been the case since stopping the steroids. I've had a couple of normal OGTTs since then.

I'm wondering if this is a weird CF thing...A couple of weeks ago my doc had me do an oral glucose tolerance test as part of a search to figure out why I wasn't bouncing back after an exacerbation. My 2 hour blood glucose level was 240, well into the diabetes range. However, my A1C was 5.6 aka...

    Caught influenza despite flu shot!

I got the flu (influenza A) this year despite getting a flu shot. I got over most of the classic symptoms after a few days which the docs said was probably because the shot made my body react more quickly even if it wasn't quick enough to stop the infection completely. I couldn't take tamiflu...

    Tobi?

Tobi is the brand name for the inhaled preparation of tobramycin made by Novartis. Technically everything else is "tobra" although the nickname has pretty stubborly stuck for any and all inhaled tobramycin. Tobramycin can also come as an IV med or as an eye drop but I've only heard those preps...

    Influenza A

I just got out of a week-and-change long admission for influenza A. Numbers-wise I never got too far away from baseline (maybe a 3 point drop on FEV1) but I suddenly needed 4L of O2 all the time when I'm normally only on it at night. I felt less flu-y after 3 days, but it took over a week to...

    Dr. Wilt's Panel

Let us know when it is! Will we hear about it if we are in the program (evaluated) but not listed?

For those who are on Oxygen at night...

I normally use a concentrator when I'm home, but insurance approved a portable concetrator when my family was planning a cruise. My doctor had to write a note about why I needed the portable but I think it went through without much problem. Anyway, it's been useful to have over the years. Def...
